Welcome to ECHS Pathways: We are excited to offer two specialized four-year tracks designed to give students a strong jump-start on their college education through Austin Community College (ACC).
Available Pathways:
General Studies Pathway: A versatile liberal arts foundation that satisfies core college prerequisites. Students earn an associate degree through ACC.
Real Estate Pathway: Specialized certificate coursework with ACC combining business principles and industry-focused career training. This pathway does NOT include a full college associate degree.
Combining Activities with ECHS: Students are welcome to participate in electives and extracurriculars (e.g., athletics, band, choir, dance, or Dual Language). However, college coursework must always remain the top academic priority.
Scheduling & Summer Requirements: To fit UIL-related periods into their high school schedules, students in extracurriculars may need to take ACC college courses during the summer.
Attendance & College Policies: ACC professors are not required to excuse absences for high school UIL events or athletic competitions. Students are responsible for proactively communicating with their instructors regarding any potential schedule conflicts.
Academic Commitment: Success in Early College requires dedication and strong time-management skills. Families and students should carefully evaluate their commitments to ensure college coursework remains the primary focus. #CollegeFirst
