Dear Current & Future Eagles and Families,

Welcome to Akins High School and the proud tradition of Akins Football! We are thrilled to invite you to be a part of something special — a culture built on hard work, commitment, and excellence both on and off the field.

We would like to invite you and your parents to our annual “Night of Champions” on Friday, May 16th, from 6:00–8:00 PM in the Akins Gym. This event is our official kickoff to the 2025 season and will include an important parent meeting, introductions to our coaching staff, and a celebration of our program's achievements.

Our program is on the rise — last season, Akins Football was recognized as one of the Most Improved Teams in Austin for both wins and points scored. We made history by scoring 59 points in a single game, the most ever at Akins. Our offense improved by +92 points, our defense allowed 48 fewer points than the previous season and we nearly doubled our rushing yards from 779 to 1,720.

Off the field, we are just as committed to excellence. We were honored as the KVUE and KXAN Week 2 “Team of the Week”, earning the title of Central Texas Peanut Butter Bowl Champions by collecting over 2,000 jars for local food banks. Academically, we are proud of a 98% pass rate on our 6- and 9-week snapshots and a 100% graduation rate for seniors in our program over the past four years.

To keep our momentum going, we strongly encourage all incoming athletes to participate in our Summer Strength and Conditioning Program. This is the foundation of our team’s success and will prepare you for the upcoming season both physically and mentally.

We can’t wait to meet you, support your journey, and help you become the best version of yourself. Go Eagles!
