Akins Early College High School Fine Arts Department
Akins Early College High School Fine Arts department has grown to be one of the largest and most successful Fine Arts departments in all of Austin ISD. At Akins the arts have always been an important part of student life as well as a key component to a student’s intellectual and creative growth. The Fine Arts programs provide every student with a foundational instruction in the arts, and develop the natural talents in those who have a special inclination for the arts. The overall objective of all the Fine Arts department is to continue to develop the whole child by empowering our students to succeed not only in Band, Choir, Dance, Orchestra, Theatre, and Visual Arts; but to provide them with the confidence to excel in many endeavors with the positive self-image developed through participation in the arts.
