(Teacher of the Year is voted by the entire campus; Must have a minimum of 3 years at the campus)

Georgie Morell

Congratulations to Georgie Morell, Arts and Humanities Academy Teacher and Academy Coordinator, for being selected as our Akins High School Teacher of the Year and moving on to compete for the title of Austin ISD Teacher of the Year!  

Ms. Morell has taught Creative Writing and English classes of all levels in her 10 year career at Akins ECHS. She promotes the publication of student writing through student-created magazines and other writing projects that bring their words to the campus and community. She also serves as Academy Coordinator for the Arts and Humanities Academy (go AHA!)
